- It fits the cup holders in our center consoles perfectly. When the cup hits the bottom, there is only a tiny amount of room around the sides so the taper is perfect. My old Tupperware plastic ones fit the cup holder snugly and are shorter and bigger around, but they also crack, craze, start to leak over time with microwave and dishwasher use, and crack and chip when dropped. Coffee mugs or anything with a handle won't fit your center console cup holders. My requirements are: It needs to work in the microwave. I don't want expensive fancy ones so I can buy a lot of them so whenever I need one, it isn't tied up in the dishwasher, and I don't have to hunt down every last one before I start the dishwasher so I don't run out before the next dishwasher cycle. Having a lot of them requires they be stackable so when they are all clean they don't take up all of the cupboard space. I don't want something that cracks or shatters if I drop it. Those parameters brings us to a pretty small subset of what you can buy. These cups fit into that subset.- They are like a hard plastic, not hard like Bakelite, but if you squeeze the top with your fingers, it takes quite a bit of pressure to deflect it.- Beige Color: The color shown on Amazon shows an off-white toward gray. They are not that color at all. They are actually very light tan, which looks much nicer than I expected. In the Amazon picture it shows them with mottled specs. In real life those mottled specs are far more muted and you will need to look for them to see them.- No surprises in the dishwasher or microwave where heating times are exactly the same. They stain less than my Bakelite coffee mugs which surprises me.- The price is right. You can't buy anything suitable from the second-hand store for that price.- The downsides: The only downside that I can come up with is the thin sides don't insulate like thicker cups when you have something hot inside them.- The OD. at the top is 3.078" (~3 1/16") and the bottom before the radius is 2.062" (2 1/16") and the diameter of the flat on the bottom is 1.750 (1 3/4"). The height is 4.203 (~4 1/4). The wall thickness at the lip of the cup is .108" (~1/8") I was concerned with them being quite tippy but they are not. They hold a little more than advertised so it has what my others of the same advertised capacity except 1/4" below the lip so I don't have to be so perfect when I carry it.- Some people wrote that they smell bad. Right out of the box, I had to really work at it to detect any smell to them. It's extremely faint, like the faintest vanilla before not being able to smell anything at all.- Some people wrote about the top of the cup being sharp. Mine are not even close to being sharp. They have a radius on the lip of the cup with a faint mold parting line on the top you can barely see and you have to work at to to feel it with your fingernail. It is fraction of the size of a human hair.- Some people wrote that they don't sit flat on a flat surface. Mine sit perfectly flat and you can't make them wobble on a flat surface if you try.*I'm writing this now because I'm back to order a second set.
